Being part of the Temple Israel Columbus Music Program for more than 50 years, I have experienced a lot of changes over that time span… several different music directors/choirmasters, as well as song leaders and cantors. While I gleaned something from each of their unique gifts, I must say that Cantor Moses possesses a rare combination of spirituality and accessibility. In services, her singing is sincere and prayerful. Her beautiful voice lifts the congregation toward heaven in song. Among the congregation, Bat-Ami is a friend and compassionate listener. Similarly, her cantorial skills on the bimah are matched equally on the stage through her mastery of pop, jazz and show tune singing. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her as part of the Temple Choir and even more privileged to be her friend.

We had the privilege of having Cantor Bat-Ami Moses officiate the wedding of our daughter and son-in-law in March 2024. Cantor Moses was magical ... she was warm and thoughtful, spirited and engaging, and she created a meaningful atmosphere full of love. We did not know her before the wedding (our daughter married a young man from Cantor Moses's synagogue), but we cannot imagine anyone having been more perfect for the occasion. Cantor Moses is such a special person ... her love for Judaism and its traditions enhanced the wedding and the entire celebration, and we loved sharing the weekend with her.

Cantor Moses has been much more than a Cantor to us...
Cantor Bat-Ami Moses has been an extraordinary presence in our family's life and Jewish journey. From the early days of our daughters attending religious school to their participation in her Hava Nashira children’s choir to her many visits at their Jewish summer camp, and ultimately through their B’nai mitzvah simchas, as well as her presence honoring our family’s loved ones’ passings, Cantor Moses has guided, supported, and inspired us every step of the way.
Her ability to connect with children and families - spiritually, musically, and personally - is truly special. She helped shape our daughters’ Jewish identities and deepen our own connection to Judaism with joy, meaning, and authenticity. When she led our first family trip to Israel, it became so much more than a vacation; it was a transformative and deeply meaningful experience for all of us, thanks to her leadership and insight.
Cantor Moses has been much more than a Cantor to us. She has been a teacher, mentor, and beloved part of our extended family. We are forever grateful for the love, light, music and knowledge she’s brought into our lives.
